Tuesday was Mardi Gras, rumor has it there was a wild party going on at the Spinning Room. This picture of the King Cake was taken before the party started.  As we all know, what happens at the Spinning Room .......

Lynn finished her challenging Panem Katniss Cowl Wrap designed by Dahlia in Bloom and inspired by the Hunger Games. She asked Cecile to model it. It is quite stunning.

Here is Florence Foster. She just finished the rectangle hat after taking Iryth’s Intro to Double Knitting class. She used Elysian yarn for her project. Nice job Florence.

When March came in, Kathy was up to her elbows in worsted and chunky yarn from Lamb's Pride in many yummy colors.

Here are some of the beautiful Lamb's Pride colors on the front counter.

Spring has come early to the Spinning Room, new spring cottons and cotton blends in a wide range of colors are here special for you. So, finish up whatever is on your needles and plan a great spring project with these new yarns.  If you need suggestions, just ask any of the ladies at the shop to help you locate a pattern you will enjoy.

This morning I talked my husband Carl into modeling my finished, but not blocked, Decemberist shawl.  I used 4 skeins of Baby Llama Chunky (around 400 yards) on size 11 needles.  Because I wanted a larger shawl I used 23 repeats for section 1 (149 stitches) and did two times the lace section.  This worked out nicely, except I had to improvise on the edges of the lace pattern.

And here are Ceil, Sheila and Anita working on their Decemberist shawls during Sunday afternoons knit-along.  Looking good Ladies!

Susan Hoffman just finished seaming this beautiful cable baby sweater done in Encore Worsted.  The pattern is Aaron's Aran Sweater and available on Ravelry.  A job well done!

Here is Mary Lou Varga and her teddy bear friends, all dressed for March. She made clothes for February, March and April.  The bears and clothes were made from Ella Rae Cozy Soft found in the Spinning Room. Oh, so cute!

Look at my first hat! Knitted in Malabrigo Merino worsted for my hubby, the color is hummingbird.  Spending time in the Spinning Room works says Kathy Miller.  By the way, the pattern is called Turn A Square by Jared Flood and it is free on Ravelry.

Dear Customers,

As Lisa told you in our newsletter, we want to show off your finished projects in our blog. So, if you would like to see your works presented to the knitting community, please stop at the store and ask the ‘shop girl’ to take a picture of it. And please, do not forget to tell us the name of the pattern and maybe the yarn you used.

This is a picture of Iryth’s Technique class:

Kathy Loegering writes:
Here is one of the reversible hats you can make after you take Intro to Double Knitting with Iryth. It was made using 1 skein of 2 contrasting colors of Elysian by Cascade (219 yds). It was a challenging knit but well worth the effort with only a few errors that only I know 😉. It is a washable yarn, but softer than I liked, might suggest the use of regular wool for this project for a denser knit hat. Now I am on to try the geometric hat, wish me luck!! Kathy
