Cashmere Socks - the final chapter.

Remember the story about my mom's cashmere socks? The ones I made her for Christmas last year but they didn't fit? (The ones she valiantly tried to make fit, despite the heel being completely underneath her foot.) Well, I ended up with that pair - I had mistakenly thought we had approximately the same size feet - so I benefitted completely from this mistake. I told my mom I would make her a new pair and it took me until recently to finish them. And I was finally able to give them to her last week when she visited.....
That's us with our matching socks. She loves them. And I love mine. They are so incredibly comfortable. (ArtYarns Cashmere Sock yarn -- I'm getting a few colors in soon!)
And look what comes to visit us in our backyard a few times during the summer:
This was the first time we were able to get a picture of it. It's amazing to see it fly in because it has HUGE wings!

I have always tried to catch a picture of the Blue heron's when I am visiting the Adirondacks but as of yet, have not been so lucky. Aren't they awe-some! BTW, how does that cashmere yarn wear? Thanks!

I have some Blue Herons around my house, and I always love seeing them. Early one morning, one was leaving our pond, started flying over head, and then slowly veered away in a few wingstrokes when it realized a human was out and about - just amazing to watch.
BTW, the cashmere socks are gorgeous! I don't know if I could settle for just 1 pair - I know how much I love my cashmere sweaters...

As for how the cashmere yarn wears, I'm not certain yet. My mom and I are test driving it now. I have not had any negative feedback from customers who have purchased it. It does contain wool and nylon in addition to the cashmere so that helps with durability.
